Apples and Money

I’m sitting here looking at a group (or is it bunch?) of apples and I began wondering; how many people are involved in getting these apples to me? Are they thinking of the person far away who will be eating this apple? Do they think of the apple they just picked as going into a pie or being placed in an ornamental bowl to be photographed as an art piece? Or, is the worker only focused on the amount of money they will be earning with the effort they have expended on picking the apples for the day?

This last question got me thinking. Human nature is to be concerned with the present and to make sure we take care of ourselves first and others, usually loved ones, are of ancillary concern. Why shouldn’t we help one another succeed?

I don’t mean only lend a hand to pick apples or just help an ailing family member when they need assistance. We should be there for one another to succeed in everything in life. Whether this somebody is a mentor, a friend, a family member, a member of clergy, or even the postman, it doesn't really matter as long as we're comfortable with them and they provide us beneficial advice or recommendations.

This concept is something business owners don't seem to understand. It doesn't matter if you have a start up, trying to grow your organization, or have a stable and profitable business, any successful person has at least one and probably many individuals they look to for advice or to seek recommendations on which way to go in their corporate life.

I was lucky enough to find just that with a group of like-minded individuals who truly do care if everyone succeeds in whatever endeavor we choose to undertake.
